Explore Shirdi

Shirdi is a major pilgrimage destination that draws devotees from across the world. On any given day, about 60,000 visitors congregate in Shirdi and queue up at the temple of Shri Sai Baba, a 19th century saint who brought together people of all faiths.

A town situated in the state of Maharashtra in Western India, Shirdi is proud of its rich legacy and association with the great saint Shri Sai Baba, who lived here most of his life and died in this place in 1918. A magnificent temple (Samadhi Mandir) was constructed beside his tomb in 1922 in his honour and an ornate marble statue of Sai Baba was put up in 1955. After seeking his blessings at the temple, devotees may also visit Dwarkamai, a mosque where Sai Baba once lived and the tree-lined Lendi Garden.
